Work has begun to fit out a new health facility in north Solihull which will provide a number of key primary care and specialist health services for local people. NHS Property Services is managing the programme of works to the new health facility, which is based above the new Bishop Wilson Church of England Primary School in Chelmund's Cross Village Centre.
From Monday, 20th January to Wednesday, 28th May 2014 bus numbers 70 and 59A will no longer run along Yorkminster Drive and Dunster Road. This is a temporary arrangement whilst the new traffic light junction from Dunster Road onto the Chester Road is completed.
Bellway Homes are proposing to build a mix of 40 1 and 2 bedroom apartments on land off Fillingham Close in Chelmsley Wood. The apartments will be particularly targeted for older residents who wish to downsize and will be available for rent through Optima Housing.
Work has started on a brand new local park in Smith's Wood. Contractors Jack Moody Ltd has been appointed by the North Solihull Partnership and commenced work on 2nd December 2013.
Funding for a new GP surgery in Smith's Wood has been approved. NHS England have agreed to pay for the new premises which will be built opposite the new retail and office space currently being built at Smith's Wood Village Centre.
The Main Grants Programme of the Socio Economic Workstream for 2013/2014 has now re-opened for applications. Applications are welcomed for projects that improve the economic prospects of North Solihull residents.
